Tiger Welfare Workshop 2025

Last week, we co-hosted a 3-day Tiger Welfare Workshop alongside WARN Asia, For Tigers, and Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP).

The workshop brought together staff from DNP rescue centres across Thailand, all working hands-on with captive tigers. Sessions covered key areas such as husbandry and safety protocols, nutrition and feeding strategies, and the role of enrichment in promoting natural behaviours.

The goal was to improve welfare, safety, and overall quality of life for captive tigers. As part of the practical sessions, participants designed and built enrichment items for the rescued tigers at WFFT, then had the rewarding opportunity to observe the animals engage with their creations – a great moment for everyone involved.

We’re proud to be working collaboratively to improve the lives of captive tigers in Thailand.
