A New Turtle Rescue With An Interesting Name…

Another animal in need has found safety at WFFT.

This snail-eating turtle, now named Zombie, was discovered badly injured in a rice field by a concerned local resident, who brought him to our rescue centre for help.

During his initial examination, our veterinary team found that Zombie is severely malnourished and dehydrated, and one of his feet is in a serious condition due to advanced rot. His injuries suggest he has likely been struggling to survive for some time.

Zombie is now receiving urgent care from our veterinary team, who will do everything possible to stabilise him and begin the long process of recovery.

Cases like this remind us how vulnerable wildlife can be – and how important it is that injured animals have somewhere safe to go.
