After three weeks of dedicated care at the WFFT wildlife hospital, Wang, a wild long-tailed macaque from a local temple, successfully recuperated and was released back to his habitat.
Endoscopic Sterilization and Release
We recently rescued and treated a half blind long-tailed macaque for ingesting insecticide. Because she came from a high-density macaque troop in an urban area, we also decided to perform endoscopic sterilization to contribute to population control. This endoscopic method is much less invasive and allows for a short recovery time. A quick release also improves chances of being successfully reintegrated into a troop. We were able to release her the very next day and watched her run off towards her family!
