Boon Ma’s Recent Health Check

Age is catching up with our gorgeous Boon Ma, now approximately 73 years old, who is sadly starting to lose sight in one eye. Our vets and elephant care team are doing all they can to slow the progression and ensure she feels safe, reassured, and well cared for during what must be a frightening time.

Rescued in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Boon Ma has since enjoyed a cruelty-free life at the WFFT Elephant Refuge.

Before her rescue, she was forced to work in the logging and tourist trekking industries for over five decades.

Thanks to your kindness, we’re able to provide elephants like Boon Ma with the veterinary care and peaceful retirement they so deeply deserve.
