Two critically endangered species arrive in one day

A Sunda pangolin and a Giant Asian pond turtle arrive at WFFT on the same day.

The Sunda pangolin was found near WFFT after some locals saw dogs barking at the pangolin. Thankfully, they brought him to WFFT. We cleaned up a few scratches and then relocated him to a safer area, later in the day.

Then we received a Giant Asian pond turtle with a badly broken shell, after he was accidentally dug up with a back hoe. Both of these species are highly threatened with extinction. We were thrilled to release the pangolin, the most trafficked mammal in the world, back to nature. As for the turtle, we will try and fix the shell, so he too can go back to the wild.

With critically endangered species like these, every individual counts! Our supporters enable us to be there for animals in need. Help us continue our essential work.
