The bears in LAOS need your help!

Laos Wildlife Rescue Center presents you with an un-BEAR-lievable volunteer opportunity!

Have you ever wanted to see instant results from your donated time or money volunteering? Are you up for a challenge and want to be part of something really special, which will radically change the lives of some very special animals? If the answer is “yes” then we invite you to come and BEAR us a hand this January!
We are looking for motivated and passionate people to join us for 3 weeks to help us revamp our bear facilities improving the lives of our current bear residents as well as creating more facilities which will allow to rescue more bears in need in the future.
Special volunteer rates are 600 USD per person for the entire 3 weeks! This will include all food and accommodation. Can’t BEAR the thought of missing out on this? Then be fast because we only have 10 available places!
Project dates: Sunday 10th January – 31st of January.

As you might know the Laos Wildlife Rescue Center (LWRC) coordinated by the Wildlife Friends Foundation (WFFT) has taken over the care of 100’s of wild animals located at the Lao Zoo, this includes 14 adult bears, along with 4 bear cubs rescued over the past few months.
These bears are in urgent need of more space and improved habitats. Right now all our adult bears are in outside enclosures; however some of these are seriously in need of upgrading. We are currently constructing 3 large enclosures to create new open field habitats for our bears! On top of that at the beginning of 2016 we will construct 2 brand new habitats for the recently rescued bear cubs and any future rescues. As you can see we are making steady improvements! But we are urgently in need extra hands on site that can help us complete these projects!
By joining this program the focus of your stay will be on renovation, construction and maintenance work (such as painting, building enrichment structures, landscaping) while also doing animal husbandry tasks related to our bears feeding and caring for the baby bears, cleaning enclosures etc.).
With your help we are hoping to move ALL our bears into their new habitats by the end of January!
