After three weeks of dedicated care at the WFFT wildlife hospital, Wang, a wild long-tailed macaque from a local temple, successfully recuperated and was released back to his habitat.
Northern white-cheeked gibbons get a new island home
This is the life-changing difference we make, together. Critically endangered Northern white-cheeked gibbons, Joey and Thong, got a new island home!
These two were subjected to immense cruelty before they were rescued. Thong lived in a cage of rubbish for 10 years and was rescued in 2018, and Joey was rescued from a zoo that closed down in 2013. Thankfully, now their lives are completely changed.
Whilst in the wild you would be unlikely to find two female gibbons partner up, Thong and Joey are our first female gibbon couple at WFFT! They are two very special gibbons.
