Electrocuted loris brought in … again
Power-lines might be number one loris killer in Thailand
Another slow loris (Nycticebus coucang) was brought in by local police today. The loris was found electrocuted under a power-line after dogs were barking at it, luckily the loris was not attacked and bitten. The slow loris is very common around our province, although it is endangered in Asia. Often these nocturnal (night) monkeys get electrocuted when they climb from trees onto power-lines or poles. This loris is in bad condition but we have good hope we can treat and heal the little guy, after he will be released back to the wild in a few weeks.
