Exciting times at WFFT as we welcomed eight turkeys into their very own safe haven.
Three infant owls rescued in three days
In just three days, our wildlife hospital took in three young owls from two different rescues. In both cases, without intervention, these owlets wouldn’t have survived.
Meet Cloudy
Our first new feathered friend is Cloudy, a baby collared scops owl. A compassionate local found Cloudy alone in their garden, with no parents in sight. Knowing that the owlet had no way to survive on its own, the kind-hearted rescuer brought the tiny owl to WFFT.
Now in our care, Cloudy is safe and warm. Our dedicated team is hand-rearing this little one with round-the-clock care to help them grow strong, with the aim of returning Cloudy to the wild.
Songkran & Pee Mai
Just days later, we welcomed not one, but two more owlets: a pair of Asian barred owlets we’ve named Songkran and Pee Mai, as they arrived just in time for the Thai New Year.
The tiny duo were found on the ground, likely having taken a tumble from their nest. With no parent around, they were brought in before predators or the elements could harm them.
Though a little shaken, both owlets are doing well under the care of our experienced wildlife hospital team. The goal? To eventually return Songkran and Pee Mai to the treetops where they belong — wild and free.
Though different species with different stories, Cloudy, Songkran, and Pee Mai share one thing: a second chance at life.
