Bang & Lek Lek – Two urgent macaque arrivals

At the end of last week, we rescued two northern pig-tailed macaques from an industrial area in a city about an hour from WFFT. They had been living in cages behind a business. Most likely they were once ‘pets’, but who of course grew up.

Lek Lek is an older female who has lameness in her left leg. Bang is a younger but fully grown male. It seems they were abandoned by their previous ‘owner’. We were told they had been there for between two and ten years!

They certainly weren’t kept in the worst conditions we have ever seen, but they still spent years confined and forgotten. We are very glad they are now safe at WFFT, where they will receive proper care and a second chance at a better life.

Can you please donate towards the life-long care of these two innocent monkeys who were left behind? With no one else to care for them, they are now relying on animal lovers like you to help give them a second chance. Any and every gift makes a difference.
