WFFT founder Edwin Wiek assisted in the drafting of Thailand’s wildlife protection laws, which he says were written to outlaw places like Pata Zoo. Now, Wiek says the law may finally be catching up with the infamous zoo that has long-stirred global condemnation.
Awareness Campaign about Wildlife Exploitation
WFFT and WFI are starting a new campaign to create more awareness about the illegal wildlife trade for the pet and tourist trade. These 3 posters were designed by a Thai student to help spread the message. We are now asking permission from authorities and local businesses to present these posters on the islands of Koh Samui and Phuket and other places where wildlife is often exploited by tourists. WFFT would like to thank Miss Soontaree Jaiman from the Visual Communication Design Department of Design Poh-Chang Academy of Arts for designing this great campaign.
