Update on Jaiboon

Meet Jaiboon ภาษาไทยด้านล่าง

Long-tailed macaque, Jaiboon, came to WFFT as an infant in 2019. She had been hit by a car which sadly resulted in brain damage. She is always looking a little to the left and has limited vision. 

We had hopes that we could return her to the wild, but sadly, she would struggle to survive. We will need to be there for Jaiboon for the rest of her life.

Jaiboon was introduced to Bandit’s group. And now, she is thriving. She is safe, she is happy, she has a strong position in the troop, she helps to look after the other orphaned babies, and she has a life as close to nature that a brain-damaged macaque could have. 

Unfortunately, as humans continue to invade wild habitats, road accidents for long-tailed macaque’s like Jaiboon are common. 

As a permanent resident at WFFT, we can only care for Jaiboon and the 100+ other macaques with the help of animal lovers like you. ใจบุญเป็นลิงแสมกำพร้ามาอยู่ที่มูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่าตั้งแต่ยังตัวเล็กมาก ๆ ในปี 2562 ใบบุญโดนรถชนส่งผลให้สมองบางส่วนถูกกระทบกระเทือน ใบบุญจึงมักจะเอียงหน้าไปทางซ้ายเวลามองและมองเห็นไม่ค่อยชัด 

ในช่วงแรกเราหวังว่าเราจะสามารถส่งใบบุญกลับคืนป่าได้ แต่จากการประเมินแล้วเราไม่สามารถทำได้ เราจึงต้องดูแลใบบุญตลอดชีวิตที่นี่

ใบบุญตอนนี้ถูกแนะนำเข้ากับกลุ่มของบัณฑิตแล้ว  ใบบุญมีความสุข เล่นสนุกสนานและรู้สึกปลอดภัย แถมทั้งยังมีตำแหน่งที่ดีในฝูงอีกด้วยนะคะ ใบบุญมักจะช่วยดูแลเด็กๆที่เล็กกว่าในฝูง สำหรับลิงที่มีปัญหาทางสมองอย่างใบบุญแล้วถือว่าใบบุญได้ใช้ชีวิตที่ใกล้เคียงกับชีวิตในธรรมชาติมาก

ช่างน่าเสียดาย ที่มนุษย์ยังคงต้องการพื้นที่อยู่อาศัยมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ ป่าถูกตัดกลายเป็นถนนหนทาง รถชนสัตว์เช่นลิงอย่างใบบุญจึงเกิดขึ้นบ่อยขึ้น
