Two victims of cruelty find love

Brain-damaged, Betty and new arrival, Boon Chok, have bonded.

Both of these primates are victims of cruelty. Betty was left brain-damaged after she was cruelly shot. And little Boon Chok, who arrived just a few weeks ago, was kept in a tiny cage for months, causing him to develop abnormal behaviours.

But since being with Betty and other orphaned macaques, Boon Chok has already stopped displaying stereotypical behaviours. It really goes to show that primates don’t want or need human company. They should NEVER be kept as pets. They need their own species.

It is so heart-warming to see that Betty (who has become the queen of her own troop of baby orphaned macaques) has adopted Boon Chok as one of her own. Primates really are incredibly emotional and intelligent creatures.

It is only because of kind people like you that both Betty and Boon Chok are getting their second chance at happiness. With almost 200 macaques to feed, just like Betty and Boon Chok, we really do appreciate any help you can give.
