We are pleased to announce the rescue and safe arrival of Heart, a white-handed gibbon who is more than 40 years old and missing her lower arms and hands.
Maggie and Chico meet up!
It has been over 5 months now since Maggie was dumped at WFFT and almost a month since Chico was handed over the WFFT.
We have had both orang utans (see their original stories on the timeline) go through quarantine and check-ups and we found them finally ready to meet up yesterday. Chico who is about 5 years old was initially very scared of Maggie, but after looking at each-other through the fence for a while he allowed Maggie to get closer and touch him. Not long after that they were introduced to each-other while Edwin and Sean were present inside the cage, to separate them if they would fight. The first encounter did not go very well but also not too bad. After 1 hour we had to separate them again and on the next dat we let them in together again and things worked out a lot better. As you can see in the photos, they now play and chill together in the quarantine enclosures.

อุรังอุตัง ทั้ง 2 ตัว เบื้องต้น เราได้ให้เค้าทั้งคู่อยู่ในกรงที่เป็นบริเวณกักกันสัตว์ที่เข้ามาใหม่ เพื่อทำการตรวจเช็คสุขภาพ กรงของทั้งคู่มีสะพานที่เชื่อมหากันได้ เมื่อแมกกี้ และจิ๊กโก๋ได้เจอกัน ในช่วงแรกจิ๊กโก๋ดูจะค่อนข้างกลัว แต่ผ่านไปสักพัก เมื่อทั้งคู่เริ่มปรับตัวได้ จิ๊กโก๋ก็ยอมให้แมกกี้เข้ามาเจอกันใกล้ๆ และยังมีการเอื้อมมือไปจับที่ตัวของแมกกี้อีกด้วย ไม่นานหลังจากนั้นทั้งคู่ก็ได้เข้ามาเจอและอยู่ในกรงด้วยกัน โดยมีคุณเอดวินและอาสาสมัครฌอน อยู่ในกรงเพื่อสามารถเข้าช่วยเหลือได้ทันที หากทั้งคู่มีการต่อสู้กัน และหลังจากนั้น 1 ชั่วโมง ได้แยกเค้าทั้งสองให้อยู่กรงของตัวเอง วันต่อมาเราก็ได้ปล่อยให้ทั้งแมกกี้ และจิ๊กโก๋เข้าไปเล่นด้วยกันอีกครั้ง ทุกอย่างเป็นไปในทิศทางที่ดี ทั้งจิ๊กโก๋และแมกกี้ เล่นและใช้เวลาพักผ่อนอยู่ในกรงเดียวกันได้เป็นอย่างดี
