Meet Phuket Zoo sun bear, Pookie

We are thrilled to officially introduce you to our newest sun bear, Pookie, rescued from Phuket Zoo. This absolutely stunning Malayan sun bear is more than 10 years old and lived in a 2mx2m cage for the last few years at Phuket Zoo due to her being able to escape from her outside enclosure.

Now she is at WFFT in a much larger temporary enclosure. We are so happy to have her here at WFFT and will soon begin the process of introducing her to Sia, another sun bear who we rescued from another zoo in 2021.

However, Pookie and Sia REALLY need your help. We are still in need of urgent funds to build their forever enclosure here at WFFT. Pookie and Sia SO deserve an open-air enclosure full of trees, lakes, hiding places, natural terrain and enrichment. Truly, your support will give her the best gift and life. The sooner we raise the funds, the sooner we can start. Please, will you help Pookie on Sun Bear Day?

ในวันหมีหมาสากลนี้ เราขอแนะนำให้ทุกคนได้รู้จักกับ “ปุ๊กกี้” หมีหมาที่มีอายุกว่า 10 ปี แล้วตัวนี้ ตอนอยู่สวนสัตว์ภูเก็ตปุ๊กกี้เคยหนีออกจากกรงด้านนอก ปุ๊กกี้จึงถูกขังอยู่ในกรงขนาด 2×2 เมตรแทน ปุ๊กกี้ต้องทนอยู่ในกรงแคบ ๆ นี้อยู่หลายปี

ตอนนี้ที่มูลนิธิฯ ปุ๊กกี้อยู่ในกรงชั่วคราวที่ใหญ่กว่าที่เคยอยู่ และอีกไม่นานเราจะค่อย ๆ แนะนำให้ปุ๊กกี้ได้รู้จักกับ เซี้ยะ หมีหมาอีกหนึ่งตัวที่เราช่วยไว้เมื่อปีที่แล้ว แต่ในวันนี้ทั้งปุ๊กกี้และเซี้ยะต้องการความช่วยเหลือ เรากำลังหาทุนอย่างเร่งด่วนเพื่อสร้างบ้านหลังสุดท้ายให้กับหมีทั้งสองที่มูลนิธิฯค่ะ บ้านที่ทั้งสองจะได้ใช้ชีวิตใกล้เคียงกับธรรมชาติมากที่สุดในสนามแบบเปิดที่เต็มไปด้วยต้นไม้ สระน้ำ อุโมงค์ซ่อนตัว หอคอย และของเล่นเสริมทักษะต่าง ๆ และความเมตตาจากผู้รักสัตว์ทุกท่านคือผู้มอบโอกาสและชีวิตใหม่ให้แก่พวกเขา หากท่านพอจะช่วยปุ๊กกี้เพื่อมอบเป็นของขวัญในวันหมีหมานี้ ร่วมบริจาคให้กับปุ๊กกี้กันนะคะ ชื่อบัญชีมูลนิธิเพื่อนสัตว์ป่า ธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ เลขบัญชี 708-208086-6 สาขาท่ายาง ขอขอบพระคุณทุกท่านค่ะ 🙏🙏🙏
