New pot-bellied pig finds sanctuary at WFFT

Meet “Moo Ping”, a new resident at our sanctuary. This pot-bellied piggy once had a home and a family, but one day he escaped and decided to make himself comfortable in a local resident’s cattle barn.

Moo Ping was originally kept as a family pet. After escaping, he began staying in a local resident’s cattle pen during the morning before wandering outside in the evenings. The owner of the cattle pen was concerned that he might harm the cattle, so they requested help. Our team stepped in to safely rescue him and find him a more suitable place to live.

Moo Ping could have had an uncertain future. Lost or displaced animals may go hungry or become dehydrated due to a lack of food and water, while also being at risk of road accidents, attacks from other animals, or harm from people. That is why our work is not limited to wildlife. Whenever we can, we help animals in need of safety, protection, and appropriate care.

Moo Ping no longer has to wander from place to place. He is now settling into his new piggy paradise, complete with a water tub for soaking, a mud pit to roll and play in, a bouncy ball, and other enrichment.

Today, we provide care and assistance to more than 75 domestic animals, including pigs, cows, rabbits, goats, dogs, and cats. Each has their own story and their own unique needs.

Every animal deserves to live a good life and receive the care they need. We are always proud to help animals who were once lost, frightened, or without anywhere to go find a safe place they can call “home”. Providing animals with a better life is at the very heart of our mission and inspires everything we do every day.
