Images of some of our volunteers

Volunteering with WFFT is an exciting and rewarding experience – but don’t just take our word for it!

Here’s what some of the few 2010 volunteers have say about theirFebruary 8, 2011 time working with WFFT…

Testimonials

There is only one bad thing about volunteering at WFFT and that’s when you have to say goodbye. I’ve had such an amazing time here, 6 weeks has flown by but I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. So thank you to everyone, staff, volunteers and other animals for making my time here one of the most memorable ever. I could not have asked for a greater group of people to work with, and I will miss you all so so much! You guys rock!

Chris Kempen (South Africa) – 6 Weeks Wildlife Volunteer, Feb 2010

I have had the most incredible time here at the Centre, now the day has come to leave and I’m absolutely gutted. The past four weeks have been hard work and sometimes exhausting, but it has all been worth it. I hope to come back to the centre in the near future (if you’ll have me) as I can’t imagine this being my last goodbye to the animals and the people. To the staff, thank you for everything – I think you are all such wonderful people for doing what you do and I wish you the best of luck with everything.

Clara Thomas (UK) – 1 Month Elephant Volunteer, May 2010

This experience has been one of the most rewarding, exhilirating and exhausting experiences that I have had in a long time. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to gain a chance to work with gibbons, macaques, bears and even a sea otter! I wish you all the best of luck and hope in the near future I’ll have the blessed chance to return. This opportunity has opened my eyes and made me much more aware of helping animals as well as giving kudos to those who have ‘rebuilt’ these animals lives for the better.

Elizabeth Chon (USA) – 1 Week Wildlife Volunteer, May 2010

I can’t believe I’m already leaving, 3 months have gone by so fast. I’m very grateful that I have had the opportunity to come here are work with all these lovely animals for the past three months. It makes me very happy to see that there are still so many people that care about animals and nature and to see that all the animals here are being treated so well. I’m going to miss them all!

Louise Simeon (Belgium) – 3 Month Wildlife Volunteer, March 2010

Thank you to everyone who made this such a wonderful experience! I will miss all of the people here and the elephants dearly. I am so impressed by WFFTs mission and I hope to come back in the future! It was also absolutely amazing to go on the elephant rescue – yay for our new addition June! I will keep all of the lovely memories close by.

Courtney Walsh (USA) – 3 Weeks Elephant Volunteer, July 2010

When I first found out about WFFT all the reviews said 2 weeks was not enough here. After my 2 week stay, all I can say as well is 2 weeks is not enough! The staff and volunteers made this a great place to be whilst doing something very worthwhile. I hope the Centre continues to grow and rescue many more animals so they can live happily. Thanks to everyone here, hopefully our paths will cross again!

Gareth Jones (UK) – 2 Weeks Wildlife Volunteer, June 2010

The community, friendship and dedication I’ve encountered here has been truly amazing. I’ve come to love animals I didn’t even know existed before and grown a deeper appreciation for the ones I did. I take home with me only good experiences and memories, even pool scrubs will be thought of fondly, or at least make me laugh!

Charlotte Davies (Canada) – 6 Weeks Wildlife Volunteer, June 2010

I will miss you all! This experience was the best thing in my life and I will never forget it! Thank you for everything – it was a great time!

Sabrina Pluss (Austria) – 9 Weeks Elephant Volunteer, January 2010

Thanks to everyone who makes this place so special. I had an amazing time and can’t believe it’s over already. Take care of the elephants for me, they’ve had such hard lives before coming here that they need all the love they can get.
